'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith renews contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the thrilling dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses following the on-field celebration.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range shot from distance, and his teammate immediately converted the rebound before charging toward the home end to mark the goal, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

This completed an extraordinary comeback given Swansea had trailed 2-0 during the second half. Amid the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. He shared, "There was a spectator shouting out and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result earned a fourth-round fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a team Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's first-time shot from about way out going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right flank after the team changed formation. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way Orient played positively.

Opponent's Class

"Physically they are outstanding but even the basics and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It requires a tough attitude and attention just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he joined forces once more with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in first-team action on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a slightly green going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without serious challenge. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

He has shown that growth for club and country, shining for Northern Ireland, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the last several matches, including two matches fixtures against Germany. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

It has been a remarkable path for the kid from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who was raised observing his father, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's single match for the Red Devils came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, the academy prospects practiced as a group, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "It was relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I knew I wasn't going to make it at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I required a fresh start, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Until recently to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a small coach driven by club employees, the drivers, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to interact with the lads but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would blend in with followers on London's Central line after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
